It’s almost the best time of the year… Fall! The leaves start turning, the weather cools down, kids are back in school, and we get to enjoy the delicious flavors of the season. There are a million ways to enjoy pumpkin, apple, maple, and cinnamon. Here are 6 Fall cupcake recipes that will help you serve up tasty desserts all autumn long.
I feel like this cupcake kinda speaks for itself. Apple spice cupcakes? Praline filling? Brown sugar frosting? Everything about this decadent dessert screams “Fall is HERE!” When you think of Fall cupcake recipes, this bad boy needs to be at the top of your list. Fall baking, to me, means a healthy dose of spices, and this recipe does not disappoint.
Pumpkin buttercream is a fun, unique way to add some pumpkin love to your dessert! You often see pumpkin flavored cakes and cupcakes, which are all delicious, but I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it in frosting form. Kara Jane, from I Scream for Buttercream, suggests using this buttercream to frost cinnamon cupcakes. What a perfect flavor combination!
Pretty sure s’mores are a Fall flavor, but even if they aren’t, there’s pumpkin in the cupcake batter! Here’s another delicious, but super easy dessert to enjoy this Fall. The cupcake batter starts off with a boxed cake mix, but the added pumpkin and chocolate pudding mix take it to the next level. Now, the original post says that you can’t really taste the pumpkin. I’m sure you could add a dash of pumpkin spice if you wanted to bring that out a bit more.
Who doesn’t love a snickerdoodle cookie? Now imagine it’s a cupcake topped with cinnamon maple frosting. You drooling yet? I know, the maple alone means this had to make my list of Fall cupcake recipes. Paired with the kick of cinnamon in the frosting, this is a perfect Fall dessert. You could even kick up the cinnamon punch by adding some to the cake batter. I’m a glutton for cinnamon and ginger, so this sounds like a plan to me!
The great thing about this recipe is you get to start with a boxed cake mix. I also like to think that adding pumpkin puree to dessert means I’m not being completely unhealthy. Pumpkin is good stuff! (Even if this cupcake doesn’t count as a salad…) Anyways, the classic PSL from Starbucks has become a crazy phenomenon and now you can enjoy it in cupcake form! This treat tastes like Thanksgiving in a bite, so I had to include on a list of Fall cupcake recipes.
I love apple pie, but I have a problem with portion control. That’s why I love this recipe for apple pie cupcakes! The mini apple pies are the perfect size to savor the flavors of apples and cinnamon without feeling like you’ve gone too far. Top with whipped cream and a caramel drizzle to make these cupcakes a real treat. This would be a perfect dessert for a Thanksgiving potluck or work party.
