Summer Seasonal Food Guide
In case you missed it, it’s hot out. Summer is officially here and that means it’s time to start chowing down on the freshest fruits and veggies of the season. But what exactly is in season? Let’s dive into my Summer seasonal food guide and discover the produce you’ll be seeing this time of year at your local farmers market.
Benefits of Seasonal Food
I won’t go on about this too much, so check out the Spring food guide for a smidge more detail. Besides fresher and cheaper fruits and veggies, I love the variety that eating seasonally brings. Nowadays, you can find most produce in the big grocery stores year round. This is fantastic, but it can also make your year taste a bit bland if you just stick with these staples.
When you eat seasonal fruits and veggies, your diet will have a natural variety throughout the year. As such, this will make your meals more interesting as the seasons change and allow you to enjoy the best of each time of the year. Plus, you wouldn’t want to miss out on the specialties of Summer, like fresh, sweet cherries!
Summer Seasonal Food
Without a doubt, Summer has my favorite produce of the year. A lot of foods are at their prime this time of year because they have been loving the rain from the Spring and that glorious sunshine. In my opinion, there are so many fruits and veggies to love on this time of year.

Honorary Mention
Freeze dried fruit is a great way to enjoy the taste of fresh produce year round. I like to add it to my frostings, cake batter, and macarons. Sometimes it can be hard to find quality produce when you want it, even if it is in season.

I personally LOVE peaches and the very brief amount of time we get each year to bake them fresh! I love a simple cobbler, and of course, just enjoying them as is. Thanks for sharing!

Fresh summer cobbler is my new favorite dessert!
