Dessert Recipes Inspired By ACOTAR Characters

A Court of Thorns and Roses is a super popular romantasty series written by Sarah J Maas. If you’ve picked one of these books up, there’s a good chance you’ve been sucked into the Maasverse. Check out these recipes inspired by ACOTAR characters. They’d be a perfect option to serve at your own Starfall Ball!

What Is ACOTAR?

ACOTAR refers to A Court of Thorns and Roses, which is both the first book in the series and a term used for the series as a whole. In the ACOTAR universe, we meet humans, high fae, and a variety of fantastical beings.

As I write this recipe roundup, ACOTAR consists of four full length novels and one novella. A Court of Silver Flames is the last book and the fandom eagerly awaits the next book! While we (impatiently) wait, these recipes inspired by ACOTAR characters should help pass the time.

Dessert Recipes Inspired by ACOTAR Characters

Without further ado, let’s dive into the list! Be warned, there could be spoilers, but I’ll do my best to avoid them.

Feyre Archeron – Devil’s Food Cake with Raspberry Frosting

On the outside, Feyre is a sweet, pretty girl who seems like a perfect fit for the Spring Court. As the story continues, we discover the darkness inside the once innocent human. Feyre is a complex character who can present herself in a number of different ways.

Nesta Archeron – Death by Dark Chocolate Cake

Spoiler Alert Ahead! Nesta is a very contentious character. Many readers hate her, while others love seeing her character growth and development in Silver Flames. What is not up for debate is her relationship with death. Rhys even refers to her power as “pure death”. If I had to choose, death by dark chocolate doesn’t sound too terrible.

Elaine Archeron – Lavender Blackberry Macarons

Lavender & Blackberry Macarons

Sweet, beige Elain. At this point, we don’t know much about this slightly bland character, but there are hints of a personality scattered throughout the books. Elain loves flowers and growing plants, just not any that you can eat. I think she would love the flavor of these lavender blackberry macarons. Plus, there’s even a little bit of ginger in the center!

Tamlin – Rose Chai Cupcakes

As High Lord of the Spring Court, florals are a must for any recipe inspired by Tim Tam, I mean Tamlin. Seeing as he’s one of the stars of A Court of Thorns and Roses, a tiny bit of spice in the form of rose masala chai seemed appropriate. That makes rose chai cupcakes a perfect pairing.

Lucien Vanserra – Fiery Cinnamon Crunch Cookies

I really enjoyed Lucien’s sass in the first book and I hope we get that back in our foxy boy. Hailing from the Autumn Court, Lucien sports fiery ginger locks and a spicy personality making fiery cinnamon crunch cookies an inspired choice.

Rhysand – Oreo Cake with Black Cocoa Buttercream

Rhysand is the most handsome High Lord. Or so he would say. As High Lord of the Night Court, Rhys has a close connection with the night sky. While not necessarily as picturesque as Velaris, this solar system cake channels the celestial vibes you’d find there.

Morrigan – Pink Champagne Cake

Our girl Mor likes a party. She’s down for the glam, the alcohol, and the energy that goes into a night at Rita’s. Naturally, she would absolutely love a pink champagne cake topped off with gelatin bubbles! But you know she’d make it red, not pink.

Cassian – Jumbo Cinnamon Rolls

Cassian. Jumbo cinnamon rolls. I really don’t think I need to explain this one. I’m a Cassian girly through and through. He may be the General Commander of Rhysand’s armies, but he is a cinnamon roll with the Inner Circle.

Azriel – Boozy Black Cherry Cupcakes

Boozy Black Cherry Cupcakes

Mysterious Azriel is Rhysand’s Spymaster. As a Shadowsinger, he needed a recipe that gave off spooky, shadowy vibes. That explains the black cocoa cupcakes, but you may be wondering about the boozy black cherry buttercream on top. I just love the idea of Az slingin’ back black cherry schnapps at Rita’s.

Amren – Honey, Goat Cheese, and Pistachio Tart

Honey, Goat Cheese, and Pistachio Tart topped with crushed pistachios and pomegranate arils on a slate serving platter.

Picking out a recipe for Amren was a tiny bit tricky, but when I thought of how the pomegranates on this tart look like rubies, it was a done deal. This ancient lady loves her bling.

Suriel – Brown Butter Pistachio Biscotti

Pairing a recipe with the amazing Suriel was also tricky. To narrow it down, I tried to think of what treat I’d like to enjoy while the Suriel spills the tea. These pistachio biscotti paired with a literal cup of tea would be the perfect fit!

Enjoy!
